For You 02:08
I'll write you a song So simple and sweet So each time you hear it You might think of me I'll make it sound old Even though it is new New as the sunrise On fresh morning dew Oh, will you sing it with me? For the stars in the sky For the moon and the sea Oh, we could make it all true We'll sing it for all But I wrote it for you If ever you're lonely And you can't go on You're tired and wondering Why good things are gone Just hum this refrain And I'll come to your side Forever I'll wander But not far behind Oh, will you sing it with me? For the stars in the sky For the moon and the sea Oh, we could make it all true We'll sing it for all But I wrote it for you

Empty Cup 02:27
Everybody and their daughter Wears exhaustion like a badge of honor And we don't know why What's the prize? Gotta be the most productive So we can buy everything we've ever wanted And we don't know why We feel like crying Running on caffeine And four hours of sleep Gotta feed our addition To be the most efficient Oh, you can't pour from an empty cup no You can't pour from an empty cup no Oh, you can't pour from an empty cup no You can't pour from an empty cup, no We all grew up believing Taking time to slow down is a sign of weakness So we subscribe to the daily grind What if it's a lie? Running on caffeine And four hours of sleep Gotta feed our addition To be the most efficient Oh, you can't pour from an empty cup no You can't pour from an empty cup no Oh, you can't pour from an empty cup no You can't pour from an empty cup, no

We went skinny dipping after your funeral I was nervous but I knew you'd want me to Water in my eyes and not a cloud in the sky I'd forgotten how it felt to be alive There was laughter and disaster holding hands There was grief asking joy "Can I have this dance?" There was present asking future "Do you have any plans?" There was laughter and disaster holding hands Crumpled clothes like paragraphs thrown onto the floor Could've sworn we all wrote down a different ending Held my breath, dipped under, I could hear so much more You were singing us a song from the shore There was laughter and disaster holding hands There was grief asking joy "Can I have this dance?" There was present asking future "Do you have any plans?" There was laughter and disaster holding hands There was laughter and disaster holding hands

Your love hit me like a freight train I saw it from a distance And I felt its low refrain Your light traveling at great speeds Have you been waiting for me This whole time? We can't control the wave So let's ride it anyway Higher on approach and then it slows down So hold me now Your heart is part of the equation Part of what I'm waiting for Can we shift these blues tonight? We can't control the wave So let's ride it anyway Higher on approach and then it slows down Far beyond reproach of what I know We've got an accurate assessment of the flow So hold me now Hold me now Hold me now

Honeymoon 03:11
I thought my heart was full as a glass of water Filled to the top so close to spilling over Then you loved me like a river Rushing to the sea Honey Moon is rising in the sky tonight Honey Moon, reflected in your eyes tonight I thought it was impossible Seems the rumors must be true I love you more with each and every day I thank my lucky stars each night That they led me to you The honey moon is more than just a phase I thought my love was taller than Sequoias With roots down deep and reaching for the sun Then you loved me like mountain I knew you were the one Honey Moon is rising in the sky tonight Honey Moon , reflected in your eyes tonight I thought it was impossible Seems the rumors must be true I love you more with each and every day I thank my lucky stars each night That they led me to you The honey moon is more than just a phase I love you more with each and every day

There's a certain kind of quiet Waking up in California The mountains kiss the sky and say good morning Oh you look a little thirsty We all could use a drink And it's raining in Los Angeles today There's a sound of sweet relief Water waltzing with the palm trees The mountains donned their caps at last for winter River's on her morning run now First time out of bed in ages And it's raining in Los Angeles today Hallelujah, hallelujah It's nice to sing our favorite hymn again And it's raining in Los Angeles today

December comes every year about this time I wish I could remember what any of them felt like I believe in something more than what I'm seeing I may not have proof but I know that the truth is I'm breathing Heal my heart Heal my heart I don't know how but it's a start To say it out loud Heal my heart Heal my heart I don't know who's listening I just hope they hear me And heal my heart I trust in something that doesn't make sense yet It runs through my veins just like it knows the way so I chase it I love you every day that I get to And when we are older we'll look back at all that we went through Heal my heart Heal my heart I don't know how but it's a start To say it out loud Heal my heart Heal my heart I don't know who's listening I know someone will hear me And heal my heart

about

"The Pandemos" is a seven song collection from the songs I wrote in November 2020 for my 30 songs in 30 days challenge. This project has been a catharsis during this "unprecedented" (our new favorite word) time. It features some of my favorite musicians and collaborators and was mixed and mastered by one of my closest friends, Kim Wheeler.

Thank you to my Patrons for making this project possible, for your inspiration and song prompts that got me through my 30 songs in 30 days, and for all that you do to support indie artists like me. I'm forever grateful for your support. If you become a patron for any amount, I will send you a download code for this album! www.patreon.com/emilyandersonak

about

Emily Anderson Fairbanks, Alaska

Like stumbling into a rose garden on a trek through the arctic, listeners of Emily’s music find themselves helplessly lifted into a world so hauntingly familiar, and yet so enchantingly curious. With a voice of untouchable purity and lyricism of remarkable wit and poignancy, Emily cradles matters of the human heart with an almost impossible sweetness. ... more
